FINDING HOPE  |  Summer 2016 Term: Tuesdays, June 7th - July 12th | 6:30pm
Finding Hope is an evening dedicated to the pastoral care of those who are facing tough life-issues. It is a network of small groups that provides encouragement and hope, seeking to enrich relationships. This summer, we will be offering "Life's Healing Choices." Written by the founder of Celebrate Recovery, John Baker, this study is for anyone dealing with hurts, hang-ups or habits that have affected relationships and made life difficult. Every Tuesday evening, the Hi Crest Residents that are involved in the Dare to Dream Mentoring program meet at 5:30 for dinner and then attend a class or meeting.  Volunteers can help with dinner or childcare.  Mentors meet with the resident for classes working on life skills training.  If you have questions, contact volunteer services at 785-354-1744, extension 393 or email volunteer@trmonline.org.

DARE TO GROW   |   Weekdays this summer   |   12:00-1:00pm   |   Avondale East
Dare to Grow is a daily lunch program at Avondale East (455 SE Golf Park Blvd) in the Hi Crest community.  Additionally, every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, the program will extend from 1:00 - 6:00 pm, and will include gardening, art, sports, dancing, science, math, cooking, and lessons that connect everything to the Bible.  A volunteer information meeting will be held on May 21st at Avondale East from 9:00 - 11:00 am.  Please click here to register for the meeting to learn more.

Book-N-It is a daily lunch program from 12:00 - 1:00 pm at The Bridge (1023 SW 8th Ave.) for the kids of Central Topeka.  Volunteers will spend time with the kids eating lunch, teaching a Bible lesson, and playing games.  A volunteer information meeting will be held on May 23rd at The Bridge from 12:00 - 1:00 pm.  Please click here to register for the meeting to learn more.


Topeka Friendship Network (TFN) is an organization of local Christian families connected with local church that spend time with international students from Washburn University to share American customs, culture, and hospitality. ​LIVING WATER SHORT TERM MISSIONS TRIP   |   Nov 19th-26th   |   El Salvador & Guatemala
There are two Living Water International short term missions trips in November.  One is in El Salvador and the other is in Guatemala.  Both trips are for college students or young professionals.  Men will drill a fresh water well for a community in need of clean water, and ladies will teach hygiene education and bible lessons to women and children of the community.  For more information, email Kyle Brown at kbrown@fbctopeka.com or call 785-478-0002.

We all know that guys struggle with many different things in life, especially in High School.  We want to help them to prepare to face these challenges that will inevitably come up in some way, shape, or form. Using what the word tells us to strengthen these young men's bond with each other and God, are the ways we will battle these challenges of life. "And when he removed him, he raised up David to be their king, of whom he testified and said, 'I have found in David the son of Jesse a man after my heart, who will do all my will.' - Acts 13:22"

CAMP BARNABAS  |  June 11th-17th  |  Purdy, MO
Camp Barnabas is a camp for special needs children in Purdy, MO. Every Summer, we take a group of students to Barnabas to serve as counselors and camp facilitators. They will spend a week serving campers and sharing the Gospel with them. Make sure and download all the info below. Application Packet
TRASH MOUNTAIN PROJECT TRIP | July 16-23rd | Santiago, Dominican Republic
We are headed back to Kids With a Hope this year to run a sports camp for children and serve the community of Cien Fuegos. This is the 6th year we will be serving this community and every year we are amazed at how God works in our hearts through the people we serve. Super Kids Super Kamp is coming soon and is truly one of the best weeks of the year!  This year every child is going to have the opportunity to enjoy sports, our trails, and art as we combine them all to have one special week of games and activities, and teach on the life of Joseph!  SKSK is for children going into 1st through 6th grade for the 2016-17 school year, and will be May 31st – June 3rd.  Please register before May 1st to be guaranteed a t-shirt!  We are excited to have your child join us, and look forward to being able to share Jesus with them! Junior Super Kids Super Kamp will be here soon!  Junior SKSK is for children ages 3 years (before June 1st and potty trained) – kindergarten (Kindergarten for the 2016-17 school year), and will play games, have activities, and make crafts while they learn about the life of Joseph! This registration is for those interested in serving during Super Kids Super Kamp or Junior Super Kids Super Kamp this summer. SKSK is for children going into 1st through 6th grade for the 2016-17 school year  and is May 31st -  June 3rd, 8:30 am - 3:00 pm.  Junior SKSK is for children age 3 years (by June 1st and toilet trained) through kindergarten for the 2016-17 school year and is June 13th - 16th 9:00 am - 11:30 am.  Please register by May 1st to be guaranteed a t-shirt. PARENT/CHILD BAPTISM CLASS  |  May 15th  |  12:15pm-2:00pm  | Loft
Has your child expressed interest in getting baptized? Please join us for our Parent/ Child baptism class. This class is for all children, 1st through 6th grade, who are expressing interest in getting baptized along with their parent(s). This will help answer questions for both the child and the parent about salvation and baptism, and what it means to be baptized. Lunch will be provided for both you and your child. MOUNTAIN TRIP 2016   |   June 23rd-26th & June 26th-29th   |   Mount Sherman, CO   | $225
The Mountain Trip is just around the corner and it’s time to start registering! The first trip on June 23rd - 26th is for our female 6th-grade students and one guardian and the second trip on June 26th - 29th is for our male 6th-grade students and one guardian. The cost is $225 per person. The registration deadline is June 1st.

WOMEN'S BIBLE STUDY   |   Tuesdays, June 7th-July 19h   |   6:30 pm
Do you know what love is? "This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us." 1 John 3:16. Kelly Minter will take us through the letters of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd John to define love in the person of Jesus and call us to love like he loved. Click here to register.

FBC MOTORCYCLE MINISTRY   |   Sunday, May 1st   |   12:30 pm   |   FBC Parking Lot
Join other riders for FBC's very first Motorcycle Ministry ride on Sunday, May 1st! We will gather following the last service for a two hour ride together. MEN'S GOLF   |   2nd Monday each Month   |   Western Hills Golf Course
Beginning May 9th and continuing the second Monday night of the month throughout the summer, men are invited to join in for a round of golf. Tee times will run from 5:00-5:45 pm. The cost is $15 for Great Life members or $20 for non-members, and includes 9 holes of golf, a cart, and a burger and chips at the end of the round! "MEN OF JAMES" HANDYMAN TEAM   |   3rd Saturday each Month   |   8:00 am-Noon
Beginning May 21st, on the 3rd Saturday of the month, this team will provide help with household repairs for people who are unable to manage themselves. The team will meet at 8:00 am for breakfast and a devotional at FBC and then serve on projects from 9:00 am to noon. To sign up to serve with this team, click here. FATHER-DAUGHTER DANCE   |   Thursday, June 23rd   |   6:00-8:30pm
This event is designed to help introduce fathers and daughters into a Christ centered relationship and to have an opportunity for fathers to connect with their daughters. We will have a lot of fun activities including limbo, line dancing, and a photo booth. You can take your daughter on a dinner date beforehand and then enjoy the deserts and refreshments provided at the dance! Ready for some outdoor time and fellowship with your son, grandson, or any boy you’re a father figure for? Well then come to our FBC Father/Son Camp Out at Shawnee State Fishing Lake, located just 15 minutes north of Topeka. Dinner, S'mores, and Breakfast will be provided. Activities will include yard games, fishing, and a fireside speaker. Cost of event is $10 per adult and attendance is limited to first 200 total attendees. --Click here to register.
