Mark 2:5 Never saw this before. And Jesus (seeing THEIR faith) said to the paralytic, Son your sins are forgiven. Is the faith of the one needing healing in this case irrelevant and all that is required is the FAITH or actions/prayers of others all that is required to have healing?

John, I think in that instance when they refer to "their", it could have meant those lowering the paralytic through the roof as well as the paralytic himself. But, even if it wasn't, I believe that God will heal people upon the prayer requests of others even if those being prayed about do not accept Christ. I haven't run across anything in the Bible to the contrary.

I would be interested on comments about Christ healing those possessed with evil spirits. It's difficult to explain this to my kids because there seemed to be so many instances of Christ healing those affected by demon possession, and this is something we don't see much of today. Does demon possession refer explicitly to being possessed or can it refer to illnesses brought on by evil in the world.

I thought it was interesting that Jesus healed the man physically in order to prove his power to forgive sin (Mark 2:7-11). Too often I find myself questioning God's power to heal my spirit; but God shows me his power in physical ways every day.
