In this season of uncertainty due to the COVID-19 pandemic we believe that we are called to wisely and safely love and serve our neighbors and city. Below are opportunities for our church family to work together with others to meet needs in our city. Please see the opportunities below, as well as the attached documents for guidelines to help you stay healthy as you are out serving.

Prayer: The Most you can do is Pray!

Please sign up here for a 15-minute time slot this week to commit to pray as we are in the midst of this. Help us recruit others to sign up so we can get 24hr prayer coverage.

If you are healthy and able, we can use your help! Harvesters is an essential service working to feed as many people as possible during this difficult time. We have greatly reduced our volunteer shifts to accommodate social distancing measures, but every volunteer we can have is vital to our operation.  

 If you are interested in volunteering with us, you must meet the following safety qualifications: 

  • Volunteers must be 18 years or older 
  • Volunteers must not be currently exhibiting any signs of illness 
  • Willing and able to sign a volunteer and visitor waiver upon arrival 

If you would like to help us meet our mission of feeding hungry people today, and working to end hunger tomorrow, you can sign up for various volunteer shifts at both our Kansas City and Topeka locations at

Topeka Rescue mission: provide meals to the homeless 

URGENT NEED: In light of the current COVID-19 situation, we are restricting prepared meals to only our guests. To continue to assist community members who would normally eat in our dining room we are preparing sack lunches and are in urgent need of items like lunch meat, sliced cheese, pudding cups, mayo & mustard packets, etc. Please see link here for full list:

Donations can be brought to 401 NW Norris. M-F 8 am - 4 pm.

meals on wheels: Provide meals to the elderly 

One major concern during this time is keeping our most vulnerable fed. Our senior citizens depend on Meals on Wheels of Eastern Kansas, Inc. to not only deliver food but to check in on seniors that may not have a nearby family.

 Lifeline Children Services: Purchase Supplies for Vulnerable or Under-Resourced Children

Lifeline Children Services is in need of some specific items to be able to continue to serve mothers who are pregnant or have young children. Lifeline provides them with the necessities they need to be able to keep their children fed and healthy.

Items Needed:

12.4 oz cans of powdered formula.  
This doesn’t have to be Similac brand, it can be a brand like Parent’s Choice: The best types of formula most used by babies are: Advantage/Pro-Advance Formula (silver lid on the can) Sensitivity/Pro-Sensitive Formula (orange lid on the can) Gentle Formula (purple lid on the can)

Larger size diapers (sizes 4-6).

 American Red Cross: Blood Drive - April 28th at Fellowship Bible Church Urish Campus

The American Red Cross is experiencing severe blood shortages in Kansas so we are hosting a blood drive on April 28th from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm Fellowship Bible Church Urish Campus (6800 SW 10th Ave. Topeka KS 66615).
